Fire News : Report immediate needs of flood victims


Maran : Village leaders should be immediately reported to the local leaders if there are victims in need of assistance , especially food donations from government agencies involved .

Member of the Legislative Assembly ( Assemblyman ) Chenor , Mohd . Arifin Awang Ismail said this was due to not all flood-affected residents choose to move to evacuation centers for some reason .

According to him , in his own Chenor , many residents of the traditional villages that refused to move and they need to be given particular attention in terms of security as well as essentials like food and medicine .

" Though their home is still habitable, but the roads are cut off. This resulted in residents who do not relocate face problems securing food and we hope that the village chief to monitor this matter as soon as possible , " he said.

Mohd . Ariffin told Utusan Malaysia after delivering food aid to flood victims in Seberang Chenor here .

Meanwhile, he said , even though the weather is getting better but the Pahang River water level is still high due to rain in the upper reaches of this river and thus may invite the risk of flooding .

As such, he wants people , especially those living in the outskirts of villages Pahang River remain vigilant with a second wave of flooding that may occur.

He reminded residents prioritize residential sanitation and shelter to prevent water-borne diseases .

" For the record , the squad uses the assistance of the Fire and Rescue boats sometimes have difficulty reaching the site because there is a labyrinth of nets to catch fish at once can harm them .

" So I hope people will take into account all these situations because the important thing is the effort to provide assistance , " he said.
