Customers running live food stalls surprised burning


BATU PAHAT 27 Nov:A total of 20 customers of a restaurant in Jalan Zabedah here , had to flee their meal when a row of five houses 80-year -old shop is located next to a burning last night.


8.45pm Fire is believed to have started in one of the premises there is under renovation by its owners.


Witness the scene, Rahim Nasir , 43, said during a fire , he and his wife and children are enjoying the food at the steamboat restaurant before a man asks them to leave the store because there was a fire .


" The man asked me , his wife and children in the street ran away because the house next store is on fire and the fire blazing fast.


" Without waiting for a long time we ran to find across the street before the fire blazing and fast burn all shophouses deserted . Luckily no injuries occurred despite a small explosion , " he said here yesterday.


Owner of a shop , Ng Ju Hua , 36 , said the building is abandoned since 2005 for renovation progress with age was more than 80 years .


He said he was surprised by the fire that destroys the entire building with its historic architecture .


Meanwhile, the Chief Fire and Rescue Station Road Mohd . Khalid Saif Ab . Rahim said he got a call at about 8:52 pm before the two machines with seven members arrive for firefighting .


" At the same time , a team from the Fire and Rescue Station Road Tin Sari also arrived with two machines and 11 members to provide assistance and to extinguish the fire completely.


" We took almost an hour to completely delete fire in addition to an examination of the old building was left occupier.


"The cause of the fire and the loss will be investigated by a team of forensic fire . No casualties occurred because the fire was noticed civilians to safety," he said.
