Fire Information : Requirements to enter the Fire and Rescue Department KB 17

Meet the requirements of physical and sensory measurements as follows :
( i ) high at least 1.57m for men and 1.53m for women without shoes ;( ii ) a measure of body mass index ( BMI ) ranging from 19 to 26 ;( iii ) the body weight of at least 48kg for men and 46kg for women ;( iv ) have a normal chest measurement of at least 81cm and 86cm when inhaling ( men only);( v ) pass the vision test for right and left eyes tested separately with accuracy of V/6/9 without glasses;( vi ) identification of colors and hearing by force ; and
Pass the test set by the Head of Department / Head of Service from time to time .

Men - 54 kg
Female - 46 kg2 . Towering and uphold the stairs ;3 . Climbing the ladder as high as 16.5 meters savior ; and4 . Climbing rope as high as 4.75 meters .

Terms of Appointment:
i ) Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification recognized by the government;
[ Starting Salary : RM936.00 ]

e ) identification of colors and hearing by force ; and
f ) inspected and certified fit to serve by registered medical practitioners .
iii ) pass the tests prescribed by the Head of Service as follows :
a) lifting weights weighing 54kg for men and 46kg for women ;
b ) lift and stairs uphold Ajax ;
c ) rescue stairs 16.5m ; and
d ) climbing rope .
iv ) pass in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay ( including oral examination ) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia level or equivalent qualification recognized equivalent thereto by the Government .
Appointment of Former Military :
Former soldiers of at least the rank of Sergeant or Staff Sergeant who had served as Aerofireman Driver Class I and terminated the services of a well and able to speak, read and write in English satisfactorily . Candidates should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in the appointment of paragraph ( ii ) and ( iii ) above.
Conditions Promotion by Appointment :
Officers serving in the service Firefighters are eligible to be considered by the Authority to appoint the Promotion by Appointment to the post of Fire Officer Grade KB17 , subject to vacancies, as has been confirmed in service :
qualifications in paragraph ( i ) above; or
pass special examination ; and
less than 54 years old on the date of appointment .
Description of Duties:
Undertake fire suppression and rescue .
Perform routine maintenance work on fire trucks efficiently.
Fire pump handle .
Perform tasks efficiently drive fire engines .
Perform work in the control room and monitoring .

Fire News : Landslides in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR - Some Mahameru Highway route from Parliament toward the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) had to be temporarily closed due to a landslide on the bank near the area yesterday.
Ruins of the hilly banks of the road happened at 5.20pm believed due to the heavy rain in the afternoon.
Ruins of 10x10 square meters was found covering the road, causing traffic jam up to five miles from Jalan Damansara and Jalan Istana.
Chief Fire and Rescue Station Sentul, Zahari Mohamad said no casualties or vehicle buried in the incident.

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 January - Thousands of road users on the way home from work through Mahameru Road here had to go through severe traffic congestion as far as about five miles on the occurrence of landslides in the area this afternoon.
The incident is the second time landslide bluff about 12 meters with the first occurring on May 8 last year.
In the latest incident at about 5.15 pm , the traffic congestion along the path traced from Putra World Trade Centre ( PWTC ) towards the Houses of Parliament and Palace Road .
This is due to the landslide blocking traffic , causing Mahameru Road had to be closed and the user had to be diverted to Jalan Parliament for cleaning before opening selorong and as usual 7.20pm .
The incident did not involve damage to the vehicle or the victim involved .
Director of Fire and Rescue Department Kuala Lumpur , Khirudin Drahman said Kuala Lumpur City Hall workers (DBKL ) earlier arrived at the site have control of the situation and opened up a lane for the movement of vehicles .
He said the department received an emergency call from the public at 5:23 pm before the 13 members of the Fire and Rescue Station Sentul and Sri Hartamas with two pieces of machinery to the site soon to help in the event of mishap .
" Landslide occurrence from roadside cliff may occur due to factors constant rain for about an hour .
" The land area is estimated lane road about 100 square meters and cleaning work is being done , " he said when contacted here .
Two pathways involved with the event open to the passage of vehicles starting at 10:15 tonight.

JOHOR BARU - The swift action of an employee of a budget hotel in Jalan Permas 10 , Permas Jaya , here , put out the fire in the electrical box saved from the affected building burnt yesterday.

According to Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi, said Waridah jump to save their children followed by Halim who worry about the safety of his wife and daughter.
However Halim managed to save his wife and jumped into the river to search for their son , but after 10 minutes the two of them did not show up .
Meanwhile, Halim mother , Siti Fatimah Ahmad , 72 , said the second of six siblings to stay with him and he also takes care of Mohd Alif judge if his son and daughter in law was on duty at the police station Bau work.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 28-year -old climber who fell into a deep ravine 10 meters Sprinkle Hill , Taman Melawati was rescued .

Fire News : Home gardeners buried by landslides

KUCHING : A house in the village gardens Simboh , Sariq Apex Road in Padawan , near here, were buried by landslides .
The owner, John Kolia said however they were lucky because the concrete house in unoccupied .
Retired 59-year -old government , adding that they only know about it after his son received a call from a neighbor around 11:30 .
"The last time I was here yesterday afternoon ( Sunday ) to collect the fruit .

KOTA BHARU 30 December - Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department ( JBPM ) Kelantan plans to appoint retired firefighters as ' Young Ambassadors ' department since 2014.
Its director , Azmi Osman said retirees would act as a presenter of information to the community related to fire hazard prevention .
He said the move could indirectly promote awareness among the public about the dangers of fire prevention .
" Our desire , want of knowledge related to fire hazard owned by retired firefighter is shared by the community out there , thus it can reduce the risk .
" Experience while on duty is an important asset for retirees and the fire department wants that advantage be useful for the people .
" They will be given a specific task as ambassadors department even had to leave his career as a firefighter , " he said.
